About
Miesø is the alias of Michelle, an Amsterdam-based DJ and producer of Chinese and Japanese heritage. The name comes from Mies, the Dutch nickname for Michelle that she has carried all her life, and it nods to miso soup as a playful link to her roots. The ø on the end is there purely for style.
Music was part of her life long before the club. She grew up playing piano and guitar, singing and performing on stage from a young age, so when she moved to Amsterdam and started going to festivals the pull towards the booth felt natural. She saw how Cynthia Spiering, her biggest inspiration, could take control of a room and make hundreds of people happy at the same time, and since making people happy is what she loves most, she decided to try it herself.
In October 2024 she started DJing. She was drawn just as much to making electronic music, and she says it means even more when others can enjoy what she created.
In the two years since, Miesø has moved fast. She released her track ‘Feels Like’, on the German label LOWKEY STARS, opened for FERAL on Kingsday 2026 and has played at iconic Dutch venues including BASIS, Toffler, de Fik and more. Her sound moves between hard trance, hard bounce and hard techno, always built on a heavy kick and a bounce that keeps the floor shaking.
Her set stands out for the way it pairs that hardness with a playful girly energy. Every now and then she drops a track the whole crowd can sing along to, turning the dancefloor into a karaoke session for a few minutes before the kicks take over again.
To her it all comes down to giving people energy, happiness and a night they won’t forget.
